Terms of Service

These terms apply to design services and bespoke furniture commissioned from Spatialis Living, and to use of this website. They are written to be readable — but they are still a contract, so please read them before approving a quotation.

Last updated: 2 August 2026

Note for legal review: this document uses [Jurisdiction] placeholders. Replace every bracketed placeholder with the governing country, state or region and have the final wording reviewed by a qualified lawyer before publication.

1. Agreement and acceptance

A contract is formed when you accept our written quotation and pay the deposit stated on it. The quotation, the approved drawings and these terms together form the whole agreement. Anything discussed but not written into those documents is not included.

2. Quotations and pricing

  • Quotations are valid for 30 days from issue.
  • Prices are fixed once you approve the final drawings, except where you request changes, where site conditions differ materially from the survey, or where a specified material becomes unavailable.
  • Taxes and duties applicable in [Jurisdiction] are shown separately and charged at the rate in force on the invoice date.

3. Payment schedule

Unless the quotation states otherwise: 40% deposit on acceptance, 40% when the pieces enter the finishing stage, and 20% on completion of installation. Invoices are payable within 14 days. Late payments may attract interest at the statutory rate applicable in [Jurisdiction].

4. Design, approval and changes

We produce plans, elevations and a material sample set for your written approval. Once approved, production begins. Change requests must be made in writing; we will confirm the cost and schedule impact before proceeding. Changes requested after cutting has begun may require materials to be remade at your cost.

5. Lead times and installation

  • Lead times quoted are good-faith estimates based on current workshop capacity, typically 6–8 weeks for a single piece and 12–16 weeks for a full fit-out.
  • You are responsible for providing safe, clear and reasonable access, working power and lighting, and a dry space at habitable temperature on the installation date.
  • Where installation is delayed by site readiness, other trades, or access restrictions outside our control, we may charge reasonable re-scheduling and storage costs.

6. Natural materials

Timber, stone, leather, wool and linen are natural. Colour, grain, figure and small inclusions vary between samples and finished pieces, and timber will move slightly with seasonal humidity. Such variation is a characteristic of handcrafted work, not a defect.

7. Guarantee and defects

We guarantee our joinery, frames, hinges, runners and applied finishes for 10 years from installation against defects in materials and workmanship in normal domestic use. The guarantee excludes accidental damage, misuse, unauthorised alteration, water ingress from building faults, and normal wear such as patina and fabric softening. Statutory rights available to consumers under [Jurisdiction] law are unaffected.

8. Title and risk

Risk passes to you on delivery or installation. Title in the goods passes only when we have received payment in full.

9. Intellectual property

Drawings, specifications, renders and design concepts remain our intellectual property. You receive a licence to use them for your own project. They may not be issued to another maker for manufacture without our written consent.

10. Cancellation

Cancellation rights and the amounts payable on cancellation are set out in our Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms.

11. Liability

Our total liability arising from a project is limited to the total price paid for that project. We do not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any liability that cannot lawfully be limited under [Jurisdiction] law. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.

12. Website use

Website content, photography and text are provided for information and are protected by copyright. Photographs illustrate previous commissions; they are not offers of identical products at a stated price.

13. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of [Jurisdiction], and the courts of [Jurisdiction] have exclusive jurisdiction. Before litigation, both parties agree to attempt good-faith resolution by email or a meeting within 30 days of a written notice of dispute.
